Venture Capital Unlocked leverages 500’s experience as a multi-stage venture capital firm and venture education leader. We are opening up our investment playbook and global VC network to enhance the skills of investors in Japan.
Through experiential learning and curated lessons from 500’s experts, participants will:

The program combines theory and practice, enabling participants to apply the knowledge learned in the online courses during workshops led by experienced members of the 500 Global investment team. - Build a network and community

Designed specifically for emerging VCs and investors, Venture Capital Unlocked by 500 Global supports the region’s vision to grow Tokyo as a central hub for venture capitalists. This tuition free program is supported by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
Ideal candidates are Japanese investors who are or have interest in investing in Japan. Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Japanese Investors with several years of experience in venture capital, government-led funds, family offices, or a similar financial field.
- Able to commit to the entirety of program requirements.
- 12 – 15 hours of online course work
- 2 Day in-person workshop in taking place at Tokyo Innovation Base on March 5 – 6
- 2 Virtual Hot Takes led by top VCs
- Proficient in written and spoken English (program is delivered in English).
