500 Global in Taiwan

The 500 Global Taiwan Startup Program with TTA 2023, offered in collaboration with Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) as commissioned by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC)’s Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) Program, will provide startups and innovators with local and global opportunities through 500 Global’s programs, curated events, mentoring and so forth.

The 500 Global Taiwan Startup Program with TTA 2023 centers around a 5-day intensive and immersive in-person bootcamp designed to grow early-stage tech startups in Taiwan and across the world through hands-on workshops and mentoring sessions led by 500 Global's world-class mentors. Post-bootcamp, there is an opportunity for startups to be selected to receive 12-week tailored support from 500 Global.

500 Global has run more than 80 growth and accelerator programs for over 3,000 startups worldwide. 

Our startups from 2021’s 8-week accelerator program have reported that the lessons learned during the program helped them improve their skills as founders which led to business growth. Program Overview

The “500 Global Taiwan Startup Program with TTA 2023” centers around a 5-day in-person bootcamp in Taipei designed to help pre-seed / seed-stage startups. Working directly with global mentors, each participating founder will have the opportunity to uncover deeper insights and develop a tailored action plan through hands-on workshops and mentoring sessions. Post-bootcamp, there is an opportunity for startups to be selected to receive 12-week tailored support online and/or in-person from 500 Global.

Startups in Taiwan, and from around the world, who want the opportunity to connect with 500 Global’s international and local communities of founders, investors, and mentors are encouraged to apply.     500 Global Taiwan Startup Program with TTA 2023

    This program centers around a bootcamp which will run for 5 days from Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28. (Co)Founders and/or participants are expected to attend the program in full in order to maximize their program experience and graduate.

    Graduation Ceremony

    Founders will have the opportunity to showcase startup solutions and growth potentials to 500 Global and a curated group of ecosystem stakeholders and partners on Friday, July 28, 2023.

Selection Criteria & Process

We’re looking for startups that meet the following criteria:

  • Are tech-focused or tech-enabled
  • Are at the pre-seed or seed stages with a functional prototype with early traction, or an academic team in Taiwan with a commercialization plan
  • Are based in Taiwan with the potential to address global markets or are based overseas with plans to expand into Taiwan
  • Preferably focused on sectors including AI, Cybersecurity, or DeepTech, Digital Health, FinTech, SaaS, Semiconductor, Web3, and innovative and disruptive founders in other sectors. 

 

Applicants will go through a 2-step selection process, as detailed below:

  • Round 1.
    Filling out the Application Form prior to the July 02 deadline. 
  • Round 2.
    Shortlisted candidates from Round 1 will go through a 30-min panel interview with 500’s Selection Committee members

The Selection Committee’s final decision will be communicated at least 2 weeks prior to the program’s start date.

Are there any fees or equity given out for participating in this program? What about Investment?

No, this “500 Global Taiwan Startup Program with TTA 2023” is an equity-free, tuition-free, non-investment program. However, startup participants have the opportunity to engage and interact with 500 Global’s investment team in Taiwan during the duration of the program. 500 Global or its affiliates may consider selecting startup participants for potential capital contribution at its absolute sole discretion.
